Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American TV personality who is a chef, and a an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, explains easy techniques any person can master. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York restaurants, has been studying Italian food, its culture and traditions and has was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. After earning an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the restaurant business by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of American student. I loved every minute of it." I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was in Italy for a year, attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) in Tuscany. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children who are facing challenges. She is also an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her knowledge of the culinary world as she frequently is in the United States for both her roles as speakers and mentors. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career she is incredibly fortunate to be able share with others what is most important for her.
