Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts was born 28 September 1968. Her film debut was in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) which was followed by three television series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). After arriving in the United States, Watts initially was a struggle as an actress acting in small-scale film until she made her debut in David Lynch's psychological thriller Mulholland Drive in 2001 as an actress in training. Her fame grew internationally for this role. Watts was an unmotivated journalist in The Ring, a horror film that was remade. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as a grief-stricken mother in Alejandro film 21 Grams (2003). Watts' star power increased when she appeared in I Heart Huckabees (2004). King Kong (2006), Eastern Promises ((2007)) and The International (2009). Watts was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actress for her role in The Impossible (2012). In the 2010s, she starred in such films as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014), While We're Young (2015), The Glass Castle (2017), and Luce (2019). Watts was also a prominent character in blockbuster film, appearing in Divergent (2015)-2016.
