Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke was conceived in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on August 27, 1976. Her parents are Angie Chalke and Doug Chalke. She is the middle of two brothers, the older one, Natasha Chalke, one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah's acting debut came in City Boy (1992), a movie made for TV. In 1993, after her first film, she auditioned for the part of "Becky" on the TV show Roseanne (1988). The show was searching for a replacement for Alicia Goranson, who left the show to pursue studies at college. Sarah completed her high school degree in 1995 and began filming the 1994-95 Roseanne (1988) season. Sarah also starred alongside Jim Varney (1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994). In 1996, Sarah appeared in two films: Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear (1996) where she was an actress named Krista Wilson. In 1998, just a year after Roseanne (1988) was finished, Sarah was asked to play a character in a TV show called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998). The show was based off the TV movie of the same name, Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) which Sarah was also a part of. In 1993 Sarah took over Becky's part on Roseanne (1988). It was stated that she would like to quit acting and attend college. [2001] (1993-1997) She played Sara Gilbert's elder sister in the show Roseanne (1988) but she's a lot younger in real life. Participated in the 1999 CCMA Award Ceremony, in which she was presented with an award for best single of 1999. In September of 1999, appeared in local Vancouver stage productions, starting aged 8 years old. She is fluent in French and German. She works at a hospital where children with terminal illnesses are treated and also works for the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. In her spare moments, Chalke prefers cooking with other friends (especially Thai and sushi), playing the guitar and hiking, skiing (she's an instructor), snowboarding, kayaking and reading. Her father is an attorney and both of her parents run an adoption agency for children. Two years ago she traveled with her parents to China to facilitate the adoption of orphans in China.
