Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born in New York City to actors Melissa D. Canaday and Edward James Hyland. She began her career as a professional at age four by performing voice overs and commercials. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection was her next film. She spent some time on Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in a park and fostered by Josie. Sarah continued to work alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") several times: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) in addition to Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected for the role of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). In the same year, she was chosen to play "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). The show starred Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth and JoeGould's Secret (2000) as well as Falcone (2000). Aside from all of her TV and film roles, Sarah studied voice, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, tap, Theatre Dance, and performed in her Theatre and tap dance class in "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A born and raised in New York, Sarah spent much of her time working in television, film as well as voicing a number of radio ads in addition to traveling with her father Edward James Hyland, when he was employed at many different theaters in the country. She was educated at home by her mother until 2nd grade. After that, she attended Public School. When she was in 6th grade she was admitted to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) in which she remained until 2008 when she graduated. Sarah was just 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed on a plane named "My American Family" within two weeks. The pilot's name was later changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was picked). Sarah is currently "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest of the Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) won numerous awards, most notably the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
