Emily Swallow

American actress Emily Swallow, born December 18, 1979. She is most well-known for her roles as Kim Fischer on The Mentalist and as Amara / The Darkness in the 11th season of Supernatural. Also, she appears as The Armorer in the live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian as well as a role as Emily in the video game The Last of Us Part II. Swallow was born in Washington, D.C. on December 18th 1979. She was raised in Sterling, Virginia, and Jacksonville, Florida. Swallow started acting in Stanton College Preparatory School. She also performed in amateur and professional theatre productions. She graduated in 2001 with a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Virginia, and afterward, she pursued an MFA in Acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.Swallow began her professional career on Broadway theatre performing in several productions, including High Fidelity, King Lear, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Guthrie Theater, Much Ado About Nothing for Shakespeare in the Park, as well as the world premieres of off-Broadway productions Romantic Poetry and Measure for Pleasure.In 2008, Swallow made her film debut in the military drama The Lucky Ones. The show was the world premiere of Donald Margulies’ play The Country House at Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse. She also played opposite Mark Rylance in Louis Jenkins’ play Nice Fish at Guthrie Theatre. The play was awarded the Falstaff Award in 2010 for the best female performer for the role in the role of Kate in The Taming of the Shrew. In 2012, Swallow and Jac Huberman co-created a stage show called Jac N Swallow. The show was staged in Joe's Pub and the Laurie Beeckman Theater in New York. The show is about the hilarious mishaps of Jac Huberman and Swallow who face a myriad of situations in their lives, with the same degree of difficulty.
