Melanie Jayne Lynskey

Melanie Jayne Lynskey was born on the 16th of May in New Zealand. She is well-known for her distinctive character, soft-spoken and strong. She is mostly seen in independent films. She's won an award from the New Zealand Film Award as along with a Hollywood Film Award as well as a Sundance Special Jury Award. Lynskey made her film debut as an aspiring teenage murderess on Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994). After moving to the United States in 1994, Lynskey began a successful career as a supporting actress in a range of large-budget and smaller-scale films, including Ever After (1998) and Detroit Rock City and But I'm a Cherleader (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), Abandon and Sweet Home Alabama (1902), Shattered Glass (2003) and Flags of Our Fathers (2006). Lynskey was nominated for the Gotham Award as Breakthrough Performer and was praised by critics for her role as a divorced, depressed woman in The Goodbye I Must be Going (2012). This was a turning point in her career. Her subsequent lead roles include Happy Christmas and We'll Never Have Paris (all 2014), The Intervention (all 2016), Rainbow Time, Little Boxes, I'm Not At Home in This World Anymore (both 2017), Lady of the Manor (2021), Sadie (2018), as well as Lady of the Manor (both 2018) established her status as an important player in the American independent film industry. Lynskey is also well-known for her portrayal of Rose on Two and a Half Men (2003-2015). From 2015 to 2016, she starred as Michelle Pierson on the HBO series Togetherness, for which she received a nomination for 2015 Critics Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress. She provided the voices of Beatrice on Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014) and Megan for Disney XD's Future-Worm! (2016-2018). She was a part of Molly Strand's initial season on Hulu (2018) as well as Rosemary Thomson was her role in Mrs. America (2020).
